PROJECT INTRODUCTION

The global development of 5G communication is representative of innovation in the telecommunication industry. BRICS+ countries are constantly advancing 5G communication to drive technological innovation applications and digital transformation within their territories, which can promote upgrades and integration across multiple fields and industries. However, achieving the coexistence between 5G communication (3.5GHz Band) and satellite communication (C-BAND) has become an industrial development challenge for every country in implementing 5G communication, since it requires addressing interference from 5G communication on C-BAND satellite communication, including C-BAND FSS ground station systems and home broadcast television TVRO systems.

In Brazil, led by Anatel, technical specifications have been defined, and collaborations with Huawei, Ericsson and Nokia have been initiated to conduct technical evaluations of 5G communication (3.5GHz Band), which tests whether innovative satellite down-conversion designs could resolve interference from 5G communication (3.5GHz Band) on Brazil's satellite C-BAND communication. Seton's innovative product is the only one recognized through both laboratory testing and field testing. Seton’s C-Band mitigation LNB products helped Brazil authorities to speed up the 5G spectrum bidding procedure and implementation process.

As Brazil belongs to ITU Region 2 of Ku-Band IMT in ITU, it adopts the migration of the TVRO from C-Band to Ku-Band which requires a down-converter capable of eliminating Ku Band IMT interference. Seton's independently developed products have achieved such goal and passed third party lab homologation, and supplied to Brazil in 1 million units through a Brazilian company named INTELBRAS.

Starting in 2023, in collaboration with Indonesia's KOMINFO and China's Huawei, Seton conducted interference evaluations and verifications on the impact of 5G communication (3.5GHz Band) frequencies on Indonesia's C-BAND satellite communication.

Seton’s innovative product demonstrated excellent testing results and fully resolved the interference from 5G communication (3.5GHz Band) frequencies on C-BAND satellite communication. Currently, by participating in exhibitions and technical exchange conferences, Seton shares its successful case in Brazil of promoting the industrial implementation of 5G communication (3.5GHz Band) in the country.

The innovative product “Anti-5G Frequency Down-converter Product” has addressed the industrial development challenge of interference from 5G communication (3.5GHz Band) on C-BAND satellite communication. In the feasibility evaluation of 5G communication in Brazil, it has provided strong technical feasibility support and confidence to the regulatory body Anatel in the implementation of 5G communication in Brazil. Through a complementary design of passive filters and active amplifiers within the down-converter, the innovative product can effectively reduce electromagnetic interference and amplification from 5G frequencies. When the guard band between 5G frequency and satellite frequency is 50-100MHz, the innovative technology shows strong anti-5G interference capabilities. Product designs can be adjusted based on different 5G frequencies in various countries or regions, ensuring comprehensive coverage in this field and enabling widespread promotion and replication. The rapid deployment of 5G communication in any country will drive product upgrades and technological innovation across multiple industries and fields, and promote large-scale employment and innovation.

Seton’s innovative anti-5G down-converter, during evaluation and testing hosted by Anatel, has received high recognition from experts in third party lab CPQD, satellite communication companies and telecom companies. Seton was invited to participate APAC in year 2023 and shared its innovative technology of anti-5G with regulator in Asia-Pacific region, satellite companies and telecom companies.
