The full completion of the ViaSat-3 three-satellite GEO high-throughput constellation marks the arrival of the Tbps-class global Ka-band satellite communication era. Consisting of F1 (Americas), F2 (EMEA) and F3 (Asia-Pacific), the constellation achieves seamless global coverage. Each satellite delivers over 1 Tbps throughput with fully digital beamforming payloads and hundreds of dynamically steerable spot beams, enabling real-time bandwidth migration toward high-traffic hotspots such as flight routes, shipping lanes and offshore zones, greatly improving overall spectrum efficiency.
Corresponding standardized terminal adaptation technology has been established to match the new-generation HTS network. Modern VSAT/FSS terminals are required to support 17.6–26.7 GHz ultra-wideband continuous reception and adopt universal WR42 (BJ220) waveguide interfaces. Equipped with low-noise MMIC chips and optimized PLL phase noise designs, these terminals fully adapt to dynamic beam scheduling and DVB-S2X high-order modulation. The unified hardware standard supports aviation inflight connectivity, maritime broadband and global enterprise private networks, driving the global Ka terminal industry toward full-bandwidth, standardized and high-dynamic upgrades.
