On April 29, 2026, ViaSat-3 F3, the final satellite of the ViaSat-3 constellation, was successfully launched by SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket, marking the full completion of the global Ka-band high-throughput GEO satellite constellation deployment.
The constellation includes three ultra-high-capacity Ka-band satellites each delivering over 1 Tbps throughput: F1 for the Americas, F2 for Europe, Middle East and Africa, and F3 dedicated to the Asia-Pacific covering East Asia, Southeast Asia, Oceania and adjacent maritime areas. The three satellites jointly deliver near-global broadband coverage across mid and low latitudes.
Equipped with advanced Ka-band beamforming payload, F3 supports dynamic beam resource allocation for in-flight aviation, maritime connectivity, enterprise VSAT private networks and rural remote broadband services. The full deployment of the three satellites drastically expands global Ka-band bandwidth supply, triggering a sharp surge in procurement of WR42-standard Ka-band VSAT/FSS LNBs and establishing WR42 waveguide interface as the universal industry standard for Ka satellite terminals.
